-They have just finished the recording and mixing of the new album which is called 'The World Needs a Hero'. The album is schedueled for release May 15th in the US & May 14th eveywhere else 2001.

-Personaly I can't wait for this to be released I have heared some of the songs of this album:-Moto-Psycho,The World needs a Hero & 1000 times goodbye.And let me tell ya thats some good stuff and I would advise anyone to buy this from what I have heared.
*They also plan on doing a World tour celebrating the new album release in May/June.
Newstedd leaves Metallica! Metallica bassist Jason Newstedd has decided to quit the band.
Jason said"Due to private and personal reasons, and the physical damage that I have done to myself over the years while playing the music that I love, I must step away from the band. This is the most difficult decision of my life, made in the best interest of my family, myself, and the continued growth of Metallica.
